Question: I would like to plant native Michigan shrubs. Where
can I find information regarding them?
Answer: Bill Schneider, of Wildtype Native Plant Nursery, sells a few
native Michigan species of shrubs. (See

Here is a short list of some native Michigan shrubs:
- Nannyberry, Viburnum lentago
- Redosier Dogwood, Cornus sericea
- Elderberry, Sambucus canadensis
- Michigan Holly, Ilex verticillata
- Arrowwood Viburnum, Viburnum dentatum
- Red Chokeberry, Aronia prunifolia
- Highbush Cranberry or American Cranberrybush Viburnum, Viburnum
trilobum
- Swamp Rose, Rosa palustris
